Films

Project Summary

I have always been interested in stories. I went to the Moving Image Arts department at the College of Santa Fe because they shared the idea that a story is made up of a series of moving images. I volunteered at the equipment rental house for the school so that I could learn the proper way to use all the equipment. Because of the nature of film shoots, it was always handy to have someone who knew how to rig lights and pull focus, and I strived to be that person.

My main focus was the composition of the frame and cinematography. I was one of 3 students picked from the advanced class to have an in-class shoot run like a large studio production. I learned how to handle and load 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm cameras, as well as fully operate and repair dollies and lighting rigs. Things always go wrong on set, and I was always prepared for the worse case scenario so the shoot could go on.

These are a sample of films that I wrote, directed, shot, and edited as part of my undergraduate education at College of Santa Fe.
